Welcome to the U.S. Veteran Camper website, this is a personal blog for me to practice my writing while posting various “How To’s” and “What Not to Do” stories of my trip of becoming a Camp Host, Park Host, Work Camper, or just enjoy time as a Disabled Veteran in the State Parks of California, which allow such free extended use for California Veterans, or another location at cost, discounted, or donated.

This post will be expanded from time to time as other information becomes available in this year-plus long drive to prepare, organize and execute this plan. Currently I have $1500 in the RV fund savings, Credit Rating of 666 (I know, right?). I plan to purchase the RV around September of 2018, This giving time to get the savings to around $8000 which should cover a good down payment and some other miscellaneous out-of-pocket costs for the onset.

The equipment/RV i’m planning to get is something between 23′ and 25′ Class C motor home. They Sleep 6 (2 over cab, 2 in table to bed, and the queen-size bed in the back. I was originally looking at a smaller model but the thought of all those days climbing up and out of the thin mattress 0ver-cab bed, made the decision change when I saw the ones that had the nice queen-size bed in the back with a much nicer mattress.
